Ms. Rasha is a Bilingual (Arabic/English) Behavior Analyst at Al Jalila Children’s Specialty Hospital and an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Diagnostician (with ADOS-2 Certification at research reliability level). A Dubai Healthcare City Licensed Behavior Analyst, she completed Applied Behavior Analysis course sequence from Florida Institute of Technology and was certified by the Behavior Analyst Certification Boards as a Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst in 2017, in addition to being a certified Supervisor. She received her Master degree in Autism Studies from the University of Kent (Canterbury, UK) and her BSc in Biomedical Sciences – Genetics (Honors) from King’s College (London, UK). Ms. Rasha has more than 5 years of experience in the field of ASD and ABA. Her role involved supporting children with special needs, especially children with Autism and other Developmental disorders. She has experience in developing, monitoring and implementing ABA programs one to one, and within a group, in a clinical, school-based, as well as home-based settings. Ms. Rasha was also involved in all aspects of running an Early Intervention Day program, that aimed to increase adaptive functioning and daily living skills through skill acquisition programs and reduce challenging behavior in order to support transition to mainstream schooling. She was also responsible for training of ABA therapists in implementing ABA procedures, conducting Functional Behavior Assessments, creating Behavior Intervention Plans, Monitoring and re-evaluation of programs.

Ms. Rasha is passionate about promoting Autism-Friendly Environments and inclusion. Coming from Saudi Arabia, she is especially interested in improving the quality of life of children and adolescents with Autism Spectrum Disorder, and their families, within the cultural context of the Middle-East.

 

 

Short Description of the Workshop:

1. Blue Cafe: Autism Parenting Workshop Part (2) Early intervention for ASD : ABC’s of ABA , Early Behavioral Intervention for Children with ASD

Interactive session as part of the Blue Cafe workshop for parents. Parents will gain an understanding of the relationship between behavior and the surrounding environment. They will also be introduced to the basic principles of the science of Applied Behavior Analysis and how these can be used in managing challenging behaviors at home and supporting skill acquisition.
